Extension roofs often fail earlier
Extension roofs, particularly flat ones, sometimes have a shorter working life than the main house roof, especially if the original installation wasn't done to a high standard.
The junction needs particular attention
Where the extension roof meets the original house is usually the weak point worth focusing on during a re-roof — proper flashing here matters more than almost anything else on the job.
Upgrading the system, not just replacing like-for-like
A re-roof is a good opportunity to move to a more durable modern system — EPDM in place of ageing felt, for example — rather than simply replacing what's there with the same material.
Keeping disruption contained
Since an extension roof is a smaller, more contained job than a full house re-roof, disruption to the rest of the property can usually be kept to a minimum.
We cover new build and re-roofing projects throughout Chester, Crewe, Warrington, Northwich, Winsford, Macclesfield, Knutsford, Wilmslow and across the rest of Cheshire and the Wirral. Our team can assess an ageing extension roof and recommend the right system for a lasting replacement. See also our dedicated flat roofing service.
