Working from the structure up
On a new build, the roofing team is usually involved from first fix — checking the timber structure, agreeing batten spacing and covering type, and coordinating with the wider build programme rather than working on an isolated job.
Choosing the covering early matters
Tile or slate choice affects roof pitch requirements and loading, which ideally gets settled at design stage rather than after the timbers are already up.
Ventilation and insulation done right from day one
New builds need to meet current building regulations on insulation and ventilation, and it's considerably easier to get this right during initial construction than to retrofit later.
Coordinating around other trades
Roofing on a new build often happens alongside other trades finishing internally, so scheduling and site access need managing carefully to avoid holding up the wider project.
We cover new build and re-roofing projects throughout Chester, Crewe, Warrington, Northwich, Winsford, Macclesfield, Knutsford, Wilmslow and across the rest of Cheshire and the Wirral. If you're at the planning stage of a new build, our installation team can get involved early rather than just at roofing stage. See also our slate and tile roofing options and Atlas Roofing Cheshire homepage for the full range of services.
