New underlay and battens go on next, along with correct ventilation detailing, which does most of the unglamorous but critical weatherproofing work.
The covering itself
Tiles or slate get fitted along with all the ridge, hip and valley detailing that ties the roof together properly.
Sign-off and clean-up
A finished job includes a final inspection and a proper site clean — scaffolding down, debris cleared, property left tidy.
