Choosing Between EPDM, GRP and Felt Roofing

EPDM, GRP and felt each have a place — the right choice depends on the specific application and budget.

Trusted & Accredited: 5.0 Star Customer Rating 10 Year Workmanship Guarantee Fully Insured Local, Reliable & Trusted
EPDM rubber

A durable single-sheet rubber membrane, well suited to most domestic flat roofs, with a long working life and relatively simple installation and repair.

GRP fibreglass

Applied as a liquid and cured into a rigid, seamless surface, GRP is particularly good for roofs with complex shapes or where a very durable walkable surface is needed.

Felt

The traditional layered system, now available in higher-quality torch-on and pour-and-roll variants that outperform older felt considerably, though generally with a shorter lifespan than EPDM or GRP.

Matching the system to the application

Roof size, shape, expected foot traffic and budget all factor into which system makes most sense for a specific project.

Our team will recommend the system that genuinely suits your roof, not just the one with the highest margin.
